Hanne Kjersti S. Iversen has been formally elected as NEATA’s General Secretary, replacing Jacob Galtung-Melchior.
Hanne-Kjersti Skjevelnes Iversen (37) got the job as general secretary of the organization Norsk Amatørteaterforbund (NATF) in Norway November 1st 2023. She finds the work very exiting and enjoys the collaborative possibilities that lies in the field of amateur theatre. Hanne-Kjersti has a background as a member of a youth amateur theatre group from her upbringing in the north of Norway. Today Hanne-Kjersti lives in Lillehammer, Norway, which has been home for the last 14 years.
“Amateur theater was the platform that helped me find who I was as a teen and see my potential. It helped me climb out of my shell and reach for the dreams I had then and the dreams that came later as I grew up”.
Hanne-Kjersti is educated in the field of photography with a BA in visual media but has been drawn to organizational work all her life, been a part of projects and tasks that have led to both experience and later education in the field of creative cultural project management. Photography has been a way into many collaborations across other fields in the past and given great experience in many tasks. Hanne-Kjersti has two years abroad during her years at school and knows that working across country boarders can be very beneficial and fruitful. She looks forward to being a part of the NEATA committee and the tasks to come.
